Ep 75 with Fiona Sutherland & Christy Harrison

Namaste Meets WTF! with Fiona Sutherland & Christy Harrison

Listen to the Episode here:

It was so much fun - and a little anxiety provoking - to have the tables turned on me and be hosted by the wonderful, dual podcast guest and author of Anti Diet, Christy Harrison to talk about my newly released book, Vitamin A to Z – Your BS-free guide to wellbeing. We talk about how the book came to fruition, my intention and hope for her book, then we delve more into some of the chapters to include Vitamin M = Mindfulness, Vitamin H = Health (redefined) and Vitamin V = Values.

Here Fi and Christy speak about:

  • How the Vitamin A-Z book came to be and Fi’s thought behind the title and the organisation of content.

  • Juggling all the things; the reality of writing a book during COVID and pulling from the Vitamin A-Z qualities to make it through.

  • Vitamin M = Mindfulness; how mindfulness & awareness (Vitamin A) intersect and how mindfulness is woven throughout the book and within many of the addressed qualities.

  • Fi shares her intention for her book; how she hopes it may feel and the space she hopes it will offer readers.

  • The Stages of Change Transtheoretical Model; Fi steps us through the model, how it has been considered within the book and what the stages could possibly look and feel like for us and our clients.

  • Vitamin H = Health (Redefined); how the pursuit of ‘health’, as it is currently defined, can be more harmful than helpful and how health (redefined) can help us reimagine and reassess our lives, our time, and our values.

  • Vitamin V = Values;

    • How disentangling ourselves from the society-imposed values can help us access our true wisdom and true heart to uncover our intrinsic values (and more on the activity within the book).

    • The importance of being witnessed, seen and heard; how there are no right or wrong values - all values are good enough.

  • How the language of food, eating and body language allows us such an interesting view into our inner worlds.

As mentioned in the podcast:

Radical Belonging; How to Survive and Thrive in an unjust world (while transforming it for the better), by Lindo Bacon, PhD.
