the landing space

Reflect ~ Connect ~ Restore

Hey there colleagues and friends,

As a Dietitian or healthcare professional, you show up every day with care and commitment, holding space for others through their challenges. You navigate complex emotions, ethical dilemmas, and the weight of responsibility—often without enough time or space to process it all yourself.

You know well the importance of self-care, reflection, and boundaries, yet finding the time and support to tend to your own wellbeing can feel impossible. The truth is, sustaining this work isn’t just about knowledge and skills—it’s about having a space to land, reflect, and be in good company with others who truly understand.

(Speaking of good company, The Landing Space was the late-2024 co-brainchild of a conversation between our colleague Kate Gough and I where we were reflecting on the questions that so often come up in Supervision…..

“Self care? What self care…?”

“I feel really isolated in this work…”

“I feel like others are doing fine, and I’m really not…”

Now, all of these sounded familiar to us - we get it (like, really get it). Which is why we put our heads together to ask “what is it that our community most needs?” So we asked a lot of people and the same themes kept shining through….community, connection, more being less doing.

So, we listened some more and hope you love what we came up with…..it’s called The Landing Space.

What is The Landing Space?

Each month, you can join us for a facilitated, live hour designed to help you deepen your reflective practice, build resilience, and develop skills that support longevity in your career. Our topics include  supercharging your reflective practice, supporting your system, boundaries, values-aligned practice and more.

But - just to repeat - it’s not about more doing. This is your space to pause, process, and integrate what you already know in a way that truly lands. Through embodied practices, guided reflection, and the support of a like-minded community, The Landing Space reminds you that you are already enough and you don’t have to navigate this alone.

We invite you to *ahem* walk your talk #awkward and set this time aside for you, and notice the difference it makes to lean into reflection, together. You’ll be in good company—surrounded by others who understand the unique challenges and joys of the work that we do and the difference we hope to make in the world.

What can I expect when we meet each month?

If you joined me for Intentions and Reflections late last year, that’s the closest we can come to saying “it’s like that” - we’ll open with welcome and settling in our bodies and spaces before moving into the theme of the month (hosted by one of us or one of the wonderful guests we have lined up for you) and offer a series of reflective questions for you to consider to really bring the theme to life in a way that feels personally resonant for you. The themes each month are listed below - take a look! Then we’ll offer some optional sharing time and close with another practice, hoping to send you back out into life feeling restored, reinvigorated and reconnected.

Each month’s Landing Space includes:

📥Downloadable journal prompts, materials and tools that are yours to keep

🎧AUDIO VERSION alongside the video recordings which you can listen to on podcast platforms (yes, you heard that right! You can walk and listen if that’s your jam!)

Less of a teaching space and more of a “being” space, we are aiming to create and hold a unique place where we are reminded of how to land and settle, invited into genuine and warm connection with a community of like-minded people, and into our own bodies as we reflect together.

Anyone at any stage of career is welcome, we are hoping that there’ll be something here for everyone.

(And yes, it’ll be recorded).

FAQ’s

1. What exactly is The Landing Space?

The Landing Space is a monthly online gathering for Dietitians and health professionals who want to care for themselves as thoughtfully as they care for others. Each session explores themes like reflective practice, nervous system support, values, and boundaries through gentle teaching, embodied practices, and connection with others in the field. It’s not clinical training—it’s a space to land.

1. the timezone isn’t great for me - can i watch or listen afterwards instead?

TLDR - YES. We totally get it. That’s why all sessions are recorded and shared with you afterward. PLUS as a pretty cool bonus, every session will be available in 🎧AUDIO 🎧 so if listening is more your thing then that’ll be available too. You’ll receive ideas for how to engage with the recording in a way that fits your life—whether it’s listening in small chunks, taking it to Supervision, or using it as a moment of reflection later in your week.

3. Is this supervision or CPD?

The Landing Space is not supervision (but is an excellent adjunct) but many Dietitians choose to include it as part of their continuing professional development (CPD). It supports your reflective practice and professional wellbeing, which are essential parts of sustainable, ethical care.

4. Do I have to share or speak during the sessions?

Nope. Most of it will be us hosting a quiet space for, and with, you and for many people this will be a blessed invitation to NOT interact. Some people do like to interact and share in the chat or discussion (which is great!), and others prefer to quietly absorb. Consider this a “choose your own path” - There’s no pressure, and no expectation. Your presence is enough.

5. What if I’m not a Dietitian?

While The Landing Space is designed with Dietitians in mind, other health professionals are warmly welcome. If you value reflection, sustainability, and care (for yourself and others), you’ll feel right at home here.

6. What kind of topics do you cover?

Each session explores a theme that supports your inner world and your outer work—like boundaries, values, nervous system regulation, the emotional load of care, reflective practice, and more. The tone is always warm, non-judgemental, and grounded in compassion.

7. what if something comes up for me and i need more support?

Firstly, you would be very far from alone, spaces where we can actually hear ourselves think and feel are rare. The Landing Space is designed to support professional wellbeing to support reflection, self-awareness, and sustainability in your work. We hold space with care, but we’re not offering therapeutic treatment or advice. If you’re noticing things popping up for you that might need some extra attention or TLC, then the first place we would recommend is your Supervisor; although they are not therapists (unless they are) they will be the best person to chat through your experience and support you to source best next steps to bolster your wellbeing.
