Mindful Eating Skills Workshops for Dietitians

This workshop will be focussing on the ways we can integrate Mindfulness and Mindful Eating Skills into our everyday practice. Incorporating both research and practice, you'll have a chance to "learn the lingo" and learn how to facilitate practices that can support your clients to gain a greater insight and understanding about their eating behavours.

We won't just be talking (althought there's plenty of time for that!). There's a strong practical component to this day and we'll be practising a number of different and creative ways you can bringmindfulness-based activities into your consultations with a variety of client groups.

Questions you may be wondering about, and will be addressed are:
  • Is Mindful Eating suitable for everyone?
  • When is it appropriate to introduce Mindful Eating?
  • Am I allowed to do a Mindful Eating practice as a Dietitian? Is it part of our scope of practice?
  • Do I have to practice Mindfulness myself to use it with clients?
  • What does the research say about Mindfulness and Mindful Eating practice in different populations?
  • Are there assessment tools I can use to measure elements of Mindful Eating Skills?

Includes morning tea, and a pack of Mindful Eating cards (valued at $20) - if you already have a pack, you can swap them for the Body Positive cards or Vitamin A-Z cards or book (or gift them to a colleague or client!).

Space limited to maintain a high quality practical learning experience.
